I've been
playing it for a couple days and it's the best amp I've ever
played through. The first time I used the BKW45 I was immediately ready to
throw my stupid JCM900 in the trash. I can't believe I suffered for 10
years trying to get the tone I wanted out of a late-model Marshall. Yeah,
it sounded 'good' but always disappointing. I own Marshall, Fender, Hiwatt,
Orange, Traynor, VOX and others, and none of the other amps has the
bottom-end chunk of this amp. This is what I've been looking for.
The other
great thing is there are no bad settings anywhere on the dials.
On all my other amps, there's certain 'sweet spots'; settings that sound
best, while other settings just don't sound good and can't be used at all.
With this BKW45 every setting is useful, it's just a choice of which guitar
and which style of music to use it on. This just became my 'go-to' amp.
Yeah, I'll use the others occasionally (there's some tones that only an
Orange or Hiwatt makes), but I can get most of what I need just out of this
BKW45.
This BKW45
has got a lot more range of tone than I was expecting. Down
around 2-3 I get a clean Fender Bassman, and if I plug in to all 4 inputs
and dime everything I get way more hairy Goth distortion than I was ever
expecting. This amp is also perfectly touch-sensitive for my hands. I've
been searching for years for an amp where if I play light I can make it
perfectly clean without any artifacts and when I lay into it it breaks up
like the afterburner of a jet. This BKW45 is the only one I've played
(except for a 1968 Park 50W years ago) that is able to do this.
Excellent
work, Brian. I am well pleased. Hopefully, I can afford to order
more of your amps in the future. Really nice work all around. Beautiful
amp. Merry Christmas!
